I’d like to see your version of a cover for that book.

Maybe if I get a spare moment, but I think I've set myself up for failure!

Ah, it’s lovely to be with J L Carr again. A good cover pulls me in, but what sells a book to me is the font and its size. For my home printed short story booklets I use 13 point American Typewriter and New Courier semi-bold for headings and drop caps. For reading I love Caslon. It is great to see the process and rejections when it comes to covers. How I would love to see this when it comes to text, from the writer’s first efforts to the published text. Another great post.🐰

Thanks for mentioning Robbie Porter, very interesting and inspiring to see his work (and what could have been). Surprised of how finished the discarded versions look!

Very interesting. Although currently even a physical object such as a book we usually choose it through a screen and buy it in an online store, in my experience as a reader and as a designer of book covers, I greatly appreciate the quality of paper, the texture, weight and also the feel of the cover (there are beautiful books with only typographic cover designs). If it also has a suggestive and attractive image, that edition intrigues me.
